I'm back for a little while before heading back to work at Camp Arcadia. The Cubs made some additions to their roster while I was gone, with two more players taking the field.
Jordan Wicks was the Cubs #1 pick in the 2021 draft. He flew through the farm system and made his first MLB start on August 26. It was an impressive debut as he gave up one run to the Pirates over five innings. He had another five inning stint against the Reds on September 1, and again gave up just one run. He takes the mound today against the Giants and will hopefully continue with a similar performance.
Veteran reliever Shane Greene spent the year in AAA and was recalled by the Cubs when the rosters could be expanded on September 1. He's pitched one scoreless inning thus far.
