Before I show the final two Cubs inserts from Update 2023, let me list the sets that didn't have any Cubs:
- Action Stars (30 cards)
- AKA (10 cards)
- Black Gold (30 cards)
- Laid Out (20 cards)
- Time-Spanning Tandems (30 cards)
Dansby Swanson was the lone Cub in the 30-card Stars of MLB. This set was also in series one and two, giving it a total checklist of 90 cards.
Just two Cubs were among the 90.
Ryne Sandberg was in the Update edition of Heavy Lumber, a 20 card set. This set had a limited print run of 500 per card, which made this the most expensive of all the inserts I had to buy. There were also 20 Heavy Lumber cards in series one and two, but both of those had no Cubs.
