Five Random Cubs Cards

I've got 11,533 Cubs cards from 81 different brands listed on a spreadsheet. A random number generator picked five cards, one each from the past several decades.

1950s / 1960s: 1952 Bowman # 247 Johnny Pramesa  The back up catcher came to the Cubs in an off-season trade with the Reds.  He played in only 22 games through July before a was sent to AAA.

1970s: 1976 TCMA 1938 Cubs Billy Herman  In 1976 TCMA issued a set of 33 cards for the 1938 Cubs.  The Hall of Famer Herman had a bit of an off year for the pennant winning Cubs.  After hitting over .300 the previous four seasons, his '38 average fell to .277.

1980s: 1988 Score Traded/Rookies #94 Jeff Pico This card is from the premier year of Score.   While the base set featured borders in one of six colors, all of the traded cards have a dark orange border.  Pico's career got off to a fabulous start, as he pitched a complete game, four hit shutout of the Reds on May 31, 1988.  He was the first Cub to pitch a complete game shoutout in his MLB debut in nearly 80 years.  He ended the season 6-7 with a 4.15 ERA.

1990s: 1998 Pinnacle #104 Kevin Foster  This card comes from Pinnacle's swan song set.  It's pretty much Foster's swan song, too.  He was put on the DL in spring training and then spent May and June make minor league rehab starts.  The Cubs activated him on June 9.  He pitched in three games but wasn't very good, giving up six runs in 3 innings.  He was sent down the AAA and spent the rest of the season in Iowa.  He became a free agent after the season, but are injuries pretty much ended his career.

2000s: 2002 T206 #212 Sammy Sosa  This is one of three Sosa cards in the set.  Sammy hit 49 HRs in 2002, good enough for his second NL home run crown. He also became just the third player in NL history to have five straight 40+ HR seasons.  He was 1-2 in the All Star game and won his sixth Silver Slugger award.
