Where's Kyle??

Topps really had a thing for Kyle Schwarber last year.  He was included in just about every product last year.  And that includes set released after Topps knew that Schwarber was going to be out for the season.

The love seems to continue again this year.  Look at the box and packs of this year's Gypsy Queen.

Topps loves the guy so much that they made him one of the two faces of the product.

They love him so much that he was included in....guess how many Kyle Schwarber cards there are in 2017 Gypsy Queen...

Five???   Seven????   Ten????????

Nope.

The answer is.....

NONE!!

He's not in the base set, not in any inserts, doesn't have an autograph or relic card.

The face of the product is faceless.

I wonder how many other times Topps has included a player on the package but didn't make a single card of the guy?  I'm thinking never.

By the way, is it false advertising to show him on the box but not include him in the product?

  1. Wait, this isn't an April Fools Day post? You're serious?

  2. That's silly.

Both photos they used for Bryant and Schwarbs were from a game against Cleveland...but back on June 15, 2015.

I will say that I like the way the display portion of the box looks in the second picture and if you take away the giant Gypsy Queen from the middle, it would have been a good spot for a dual autograph.

  3. I think this happen once before where the face of the product in advertising did not appear in it. I think it was another sport.
