2017 Cub #37

The list keeps growing, which is not a good sign.

Miguel Montero was responsible for one of my best moments ever, as he hit a pinch hit grand slam in game 1 of the NLCS last fall.  Wrigley Field was insanely loud and my voice was raspy for two days.

The good feeling for Miggy didn't last long.  He popped off about a lack of playoff playing time on the day of the celebration parade.  That seemed odd.

On Wednesday the Nationals stole bases as if a 10-year-old was behind the plate.  After the game Montero cast all the blame on the pitchers.  This, coming from a guy that hadn't thrown out a single runner all season.

Theo acted swiftly and DFA-ed Montero the next day.

Needing a replacement catcher, the Cubs called up Victor Caratini.  He was tearing up the PCL, hitting .343 and making the All Star roster.  It looks like he'll miss the game, being in the big leagues instead.

Caratini is the 37th different Cub player this season.
