Let's take a look at the Cubs position players this year.
Catchers
The Cubs are carrying three catchers. They haven't done that since the 2016 season. Good things happened in 2016. Is three catchers the magic formula?
Infielders
The infield is a pretty strong defensive group, especially up the middle. Wisdom is providing some decent power at third. First base is a question mark. How long before they call up Matt Mervis?
Outfielders
Bellinger, Happ, and Suzuki have the potential to be a pretty decent outfield. Miles Mastrobuoni is a place holder until something better can be found.
Not on the current roster
Nelson Velazquez started the season in Iowa, came up for a week and hit a grand slam that helped lead the Cubs to a win (that's what he is celebrating in the picture) and then went back to Iowa when Suzuki came off of the IL.
