Year - 2009
Main Brands - Topps, Upper Deck
Number of Players Included Among All the Sets: 30
Players Included in Every Set: 15
The 2009 Upper Deck set has 1006 cards while Topps has just 660. That explains why there are so many blank spots on the left side. Both brands when with foil-type printing of the names on a black background, making them hard to read. Neither design does much for me.
No, the designs don't do much for me either. There are a couple of great photo selections from Topps though. The Reed Johnson and Soriano cards just make me smile.
ReplyDeleteThis was the last year before Topps got exclusive rights to use logos, isn't it? I wasn't collecting then, so following this series makes more clear to me what happened--that most of the competing brands had dropped out anyway.
