The Revolving Clubhouse Door

The season is barely a month old and the Cubs have already had 32 different players suit up.  There should be a revolving clubhouse door.

I try to create cards for each player that puts on a Cub uniform during the season.  Usually I'll show the cards at the end of the season.  This year I'm afraid that if I wait until September, I'll have way too many cards to create.  So instead, I'll pace myself and do the cards a month or so at a time.

The three for today are all players that have been released, so I don't need to wait to see if they are included in Series Two or the Update Series.  When you looks at their stats, you'll know why  they were released.  In fact, I doubt any of these will show up in a big league uniform again.

Alberto Gonzalez...The Cubs released him on April 19.  In 11 games he hit .217 with a homer and 2 RBIs.

Hisanori Takahashi...He was given his walking papers on April 17.  He accepted an assignment to AAA Iowa.

Kameron Loe...His time with the Cubs was very brief.  The was picked up off of waivers on April 14 and took Takahashi's spot on the roster.  He wasn't an improvement, though, and he was dumped on May 6.

Come back next month to see the latest list of Cubs dumps...who will it be??  Marmol?? Julio Borbon??  Scott Hairston??  Shawn Camp??  Pretty sad that there are so many that could (maybe should!) be released.
