Mystery From Chad

The Illinois State Police cards weren't the only thing reader Chad sent me.  A few weeks earlier he sent me a mystery card.  He asked if I knew what set it was from.

I didn't write about it because it still has me stumped.

Here's the card:

There is no writing on the back, and the front is pretty plain, too.

The only thing that I know for sure is that the picture is from 1915.  That was the one and only season that the Cubs wore the uniform he's wearing.

That's not much to go on.

I did a google image search on each of the 1915 Cubs to see if a match came up.

I got nothing.

I looked back over the other images of the players and I think that the card belongs to pitcher Hippo Vaughn.  I think but I'm not too sure.

The card doesn't match anything issued in the 1915-1916 time frame so I must be from something later.  But I have no idea what that might be.

I've got a friend who is going to the National in August.  I've asked him to take my card with and see if he can find anything similar or ask some of the vintage dealers if they know anything about it.
