Christmas Goodies From Reader Chad for the Player Collections

 The box from Chad included several cards that will go into the player collections for Ryne Sandberg and Andre Dawson.  First up is Ryno.

 

These are stickers from the 1990 Publications International sticker set.  They look pretty big here, but they are actually pretty small, each measuring just 1 3/8" x 1 3/4".

This card is one of 12 in the P&G All-Star Game set from 1992. Chad also left me a note saying "the blind pig soap - Google it."  So I did.  Check this out - scroll to the end of the article to find out why P&G soap was sometimes called the blind pig soap.

Cards from this set were given away in packs of five at Atlantic gas stations in 1993.  I had never heard of the Atlantic brand name.  We had ARCO (Atlantic Richfield Company) in the Chicago area when I was growing up, but never anything under the Atlantic name.  The brand name no longer exists.

Moving on, Chad also sent me several Andre Dawson cards.

I added several Action Packed cards recently, but not this one.    It's part of a six card test set that was released in 1988.  The test must not have gone well because the Action Packed sets came out five years later.

This card come from the wax pack boxes of 1988 Score.  Each box had a four-card panel

Rite Aid's one and only foray into the baseball card world include Dawson among the 33 cards.
