1991 O-Pee-Chee Cubs

 Set Size: O-Pee-Chee - 792, Topps 792

Cubs in set: O-Pee-Chee - 36, Topps 33

The fronts on the 1991 cards were identical.  The big Topps 40th Anniversary logo was left in place by O-Pee-Chee.  That seems a little odd to me, but it probably saved them on production costs.

The backs have most of the usual copyright and bilingual changes.  Odd again, though, is that the Topps logo remained on the back as well.  As long as they were making several changes to the backs, why not put on your own logo?

There is a three card difference in the size of the Cubs set.  My OPC Cubs set includes three "Now with Cubs" cards that Topps didn't have.

The Cubs were busy before the 1991 season, adding a power hitter, a starter, and a closer.  It resulted in the team having the exact same number of wins in 1991 as they did in 1990.  It also resulted in the manager Don Zimmer getting fired during the season.
