1992 O-Pee-Chee Cubs

 The significance of the 1992 OPC set is that it is the last time that they used the Topps design.

Set Size: O-Pee-Chee - 792, Topps 792  

Cubs in set: O-Pee-Chee - 30, Topps 30  They are not the same 30 cards, however. Topps has an All-Star card for Ryne Sandberg that is not in the OPC set.  I added a Mike Morgan OPC card to the set because it has the "Now With" designation.

The brand logo is the only change on the front.

There are several changes on the back.  The oddest is the location switch between the ballpark name and the copyright information.  I like the Topps version, with the park name centered, better.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

  

  

  

 

So what was the print deadline for OPC with this set? They show Morgan going to the Cubs on December 3.  Maddux signed with the Braves on December 19 and he didn't get a "Now With."  Looks like the cutoff was somewhere between those dates.
