1900s - 1970s: 1953 Bowman #154 Turk Lown You'll have to trust me that this is Turk Lown because the front of the '53 Bowman cards don't tell you. This would be a pure minimalist design.

Five Random Cubs Cards
I've got 14,114 Cubs cards from 108 different brands listed on a spreadsheet. A random number generator picked five cards, one each from the past several decades.
1900s - 1970s: 1953 Bowman #154 Turk Lown You'll have to trust me that this is Turk Lown because the front of the '53 Bowman cards don't tell you. This would be a pure minimalist design.
1980s: 1987 Leaf #77 Keith Moreland This card come from the era when Leaf was using Donruss' card designs. But Leaf did get to drop the Donruss logo on the card in 1987.
1990s: 1993 Topps Gold #128 Kal Daniels The Cubs released Daniels in October of 1992 and he didn't make it back to the majors with any other team. I guess that makes this card in the '93 set his swan song.
2000s: 2004 Topps Fall Classic Covers 1935 Cubs Tigers The Cubs were in the midst of their "Win a pennant every three years" run...'29, 32, 35, and '38. Of course that run was also known as "Win a pennant every three years but lose the World Series". The '35 Cubs lost to the Tigers in six games.
2010s: 2010 Topps Chrome #42 Ryan Dempster Dempster was 15-12 for the 2010 Cubs. The 15 wins were tops on the team. His record could have been better with a little more run support. The Cubs scored two or less runs in 14 of his starts.
1900s - 1970s: 1953 Bowman #154 Turk Lown You'll have to trust me that this is Turk Lown because the front of the '53 Bowman cards don't tell you. This would be a pure minimalist design.
