I think this as stretched out long enough! Let's finish the last two insert sets.
Stars is Service is pretty self-explanatory. It features 25 players and the work they do in their community. Two Cubs cards are among the 25.
Lester and Rizzo are both good guys who do lots of community work. Both are cancer survivors, which may part of the reason why they are so good at giving back. Rizzo won the Roberto Clemente Award in 2017.
Kris Bryant was the lone Cub in the set. The card shown is the 2017 Topps Definitive Collection. Several of the actual 2017 card are listed on eBay at prices between $350 to $500.
The Through the Years insert reminds me of the 2017 Topps Chrome Bowman Through the Years insert, because the scanned autographed card looked so clean... it kinda looked like the insert itself had been autographed.
ReplyDeleteI pulled the Pete Alonso thru the years card without having looked at a checklist or anything. Was thoroughly excited for a minute or two. Topps even left the "Certified Autograph Issue" statement on the card. Don't know if it's the worst insert Topps has done recently (the Topps Now ad cards are up there,) but these are pretty bad.
