1992 - 1994 MCI Cubs

Today's cards from Chad come from two sets put out by MCI.  In the mid-1990s, MCI sponsored several tours by baseball players at military bases.  Soldiers could get the cards by filling out and MCI application.  For those of you too young to remember, MCI was a big player in the long distance phone industry and later cell phones.  

The cards debuted in 1992 with a set of 14.  

  

Chad sent me the Fergie card.  I recently picked up the Madlock.  There is also a card of Dave Kingman, but I have yet to find it anywhere.  It has been added to my most wanted list.

 

A year later, Bob Dernier was included in the set, the lone Cub.

Fergie re-appeared in the 1994 set, though the team logos disappeared.  Sets were also issued in 1995 and 1996, but they are Cub-less.
