1993 Commanders of the Hill Cubs

Today's set comes from Coke and Topps, though you won't find either logo anywhere on the cards.  The two teamed up to produce "Commanders of the Hill." in 1993.  The set consists of the top pitchers, fifteen from each league. -- hence the commanders of the hill.

The cards were only available on military bases at their food concession areas.  A Coke product purchase would entitle you to a free five-pack of cards.

There is just one Cubs pitcher in the set, though when the set came out he was no longer with the team.

 

By the time these came out, Maddux had left the Cubs and was with the Braves.
