I've got 19,735 Cubs cards from 298 different brands listed on a spreadsheet. A random number generator picked five cards, one each from the past several decades.
1900s - 1970s: 1966 Topps #290 Ron Santo This is a nice looking card of the Cubs' captain at Shea Stadium.
1980s: 1994 Ajax Mel Hall This is about as bad of a card as you can get... the Ajax Dog Food company never existed, the cards were fakes and Mel Hall is serving a 45 year jail sentence for sexual assault of a child. 1990s: 1999 Victory #81 Kevin Tapani In 1998, Tapani was a career-best 19-9. He started a massive decline in 1999, going 6-12. His record over following two seasons was 17-26 and then he was done.2000s: 2006 Upper Deck American Family #5 Mark Prior This card is from a set that I know very little about, other than that is a regular-looking Upper Deck card with an American Family Insurance logo. There is no mention of a Wrigley Field giveaway in 2006 by American Family on the schedule. There's very little mention of Mark Prior in 2006. His arm was shot, he went 1-6 with an ERA of 7.21, his brief career was over. 2010s: 2019 Iconic Card Reprint #32 Kris Bryant This is ridiculous. How does a four year old card qualify as iconic??
