I've finished up the team sets from the 70's last week. Let's go ahead and do the same thing Saturday thing with the '60s.... the alliteration still works as we go from Seventies Saturday to Sixties Saturday.
One thing I'll be doing differently is the order in which the sets are presented. I did the Seventies in random brand and year order. The Sixties will be coming to you chronologically, starting with sets from 1960 and working through the decade.
Kicking things off is the 1960 Topps set. The set includes several pictures taken at Wrigley Field, always a good thing for me. Also included is an All Star card, a couple of rookie cards, and one of the other Frank Thomas wearing a Reds' uniform and no attempt by Topps to hide it.
Ridzik never played for the Cubs and Bright had to wait until 1965 and another capless card to play for the Cubs, the famous INF-OF-C card. Despite this he never played in the field for the Cubs, just pinch-hit.
