The Cubs went half a month without adding a new player to the team. Sure, they added several guys on the Iowa express. But it was a string of 15 days without someone new.
The string was broken on Saturday when pitcher Steven Brault was added to the roster. He pitched in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday and added another inning on Sunday. So far, so good with him as he has yet to allow a runner in 2.2 innings.
The season total of Cub players now stands at 48, a nice round number for a 6 x 8 mosaic.
