The 2022 edition of Topps Chrome came out on September 16. This is about a month and a half later than it usual pre-pandemic release date of August 1. However, the set size is 220 cards, up from the pre-pandemic size of 200. So that's good, I guess
There are just five Cubs among the 220 cards. The Cubs two big off-season acquisitions, Seiya Suzuki and Marcus Stroman, were not included. This would be due to Topps making the Chrome set a parallel of series one and two. I suppose that they will be included in a Topps Chrome update set if one is issued.
The good news is that there was no Chrome card of Greg Deichmann, who in earlier Topps sets was the rookie that they were shoving down our throats.
Four of the five being in the City Connect unis is a bit much.
ReplyDeleteHope they do come out with a Stroman Chrome Update card.
Agreed, way too much Wrigleyville for my tastes.
