The 2022 Archives set is out. This year's features sets are from 1963, 1978, and 1987.
I have to say it, since nothing has changed... why do we need Archives when there is already Heritage?
Anyway, there are 300 cards in the base set and another 80 SPs that are divided into four subsets. I have the Cubs cards from the base set and am working on getting the three SPs.
Three current Cubs have 1963 cards.
Two more Cubs have the 1978 design.
1987 was the big Cubs winner as there are six Cubs, three current and three retired. It was nice to see Billy Williams included. It was ridiculous to see Greg Deichmann included. There's good news with the three retired players too. I've only seen the Banks picture used one other time and the Santo and Williams are new to me.
It's interesting they use two different Cubs logo for retired versus current. Still think it's strange they don't make the logo the same (at least for the active players) as the regular 87 Topps.
ReplyDeleteYes, they go with the logo from the player's era, so it’s a 1960's logo for Banks, Santo, and Williams.
ReplyDeleteHappy to see another Santo card.
