2005 Team Heroes Cubs

The 2005 season was the final for Donruss as a producer of baseball cards, making this the end of the line for Team Heroes.  The set shrunk again, going from 465 card to 440. The number of retired Cubs shrunk too, down to just one.

...Lee Smith.  The one positive for Donruss is that over the three year run of Team Heroes, they didn't repeat a retired Cub.

The number of active Cubs dropped to just fourteen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

Question -- did Donruss design the cards in the shape of a D (for Donruss?) on purpose or is that just a happy coincidence?
