On the Katy Trail - Augusta, Missouri

It's the same story on Monday as it was on Sunday, lots of miles (37 this time), lots of little towns (McKittrick, Treolar, Marthasville, Dutzow, and Augusta), and no players to feature.

The big story from today's ride is the fallen trees.  A big storm came through overnight and blew over several trees.

We got through this one, but had to carry the bikes.

This was the big daddy, a huge fallen oak.  Luckily a state worker had already been there for two hours, cutting and clearing.  He still had a lot of work left, but we could get through, though we had to take our bags off to lighten our bikes since we had some high lifting to do.

  1. The state worker looks really happy to be given a break for a photo opportunity. LOL Continued safe travels!

  2. For a second there I thought you were referring to the guy in the picture as "big daddy" :)
