1952 Bowman - The Real Deals!

The 1952 Bowman set was very similar to the 1951 version.  The cards are the same size, 2 1/16" x 3 1/8".  They feature a painted version of a photograph, with a white border.  The only difference is that there is an autograph on the front instead of a box with the player's name.

One thing that really stood out to me with both the '51s and the 52's is the color.  Even after nearly 70 years, the color is sharp and pops out at you.  The Topps cards from the same era have a fuzzier and subdued look.

There are sixteen Cubs in the set and kudos the the players' elementary school teachers.  Their autographs are legible and you don't have to make many guesses to figure out their name.

  3. Beautiful cards. I'd love to eventually own all of the early 50's Bowman Athletics.
