For me, the word "Bittersweet" best describes my feelings on Ron Santo being elected to the Hall of Fame. It would have been nicer for his election to have happened before
this, but that's not the way it went. Still, its nice to see him finally elected. Bill James has Santo ranked sixth all time among third baseman, yet he is the 15th to be elected to the Hall. Seems to me his election is long overdue.

Well said. As far as I'm concerned, the fact that Mr. Santo is still able to bring Cub fans so much joy, even now, is a tribute to what he was and always will be... the greatest Cubs fan of all.
