Varied Colors - 1958

In 1958 Topps made cards that were much more colorful than the previous years'.  They also went back to cropping around the player and using a solid background color.

The background colors varied, as did the band at the bottom of the card, and the font color for the team, name, and position.

There were eight different color combinations used for the Cubs, though one combo was by far the most common.  Of  the 27 cards, 19 have a yellow background, red team name, red band, black position, and white team name.  None of the other combinations tallied more that two cards.  The pictograph shows just how much the yellow outnumbered the others.

Sadly for me, none of the cards have a blue and red combination.  My winner would be a red background and a blue band.
