The 1960 design marks the first time Topps used a horizontal layout since using the smaller card size. The color was varied in several elements. The background of the smaller player picture changed. The band on the bottom of the card varied, too, as did the font color for the team name and position. The letters of the name alternated between two colors and those two colors varied depending on the color of the band. It was a hot mess of colors!
The winner for the Cubs was a green band with a yellow small-picture background. That makes two years in a row where green was the predominant Cubs color. Yuk!
Once again, none of these combinations do much for me.
This would be my preference, if Topps had used this combo, blue band and red background
The blue/red combo you created looks amazing. Even without this combination, 60T is one of my favorite designs of all-time.
