Collection Growth

Once a year I'll track the growth of my Cubs collection.

Here's how it has grown over the years.  The growth has been a pretty steady climb.  In 2019 I added 1,224 Cubs cards.  That is the biggest increase over the past five years.  You'll be able to see the reason for the growth on the next chart.

Here I've got the number of completed brands in my collection.  Notice the huge jump in the first quarter of 2019.  I added a boatload of oddball sets., which was one of my goals for 2019.  I also change the way I designated sets.  Previously I had a bunch of very small sets listed under the the brand of "Oddball."  A year ago I gave each of them their own separate heading.  That, and my many purchases, caused my brand total skyrocket.

Many of the new sets included just a few cards.  But some, like the sticker sets, had a pretty decent number of cards.  That explains the jump in both cards and brands.

  1. Very cool that you track your collection like this. Maybe one day, I'll get around to counting or entering my cards into a database, so I can do this too.
