I've got 18,933 Cubs cards from 278 different brands listed on a spreadsheet. A random number generator picked five cards, one each from the past several decades.
1900s - 1970s: 1979 Fritsch #54 Don Eaddy Very interesting MLB career for Don Eaddy. He played in 15 games for the Cubs in 1959, but had just one plate appearance (it was a strike out). He was a pinch-runner in the other fourteen games. He was Herb Washington 25 years before Herb Washington.1980s: 1979 Hall of Fame Hack Wilson He really has no business being in the Hall of Fame. He had five really good seasons, but the Hall of Fame should be reserved for guys with longer sustained excellence. He was voted in by the veterans committee 45 years after his last MLB appearance.
1990s: 1996 Team Issued Sammy Sosa Looks like the only way Sammy is going to get in the HOF is by the Veterans Committee. Maybe they'll overlook the steroids in 45 years.
2000s: 2006 Upper Deck #551 John Mabry He looks very relaxed!
Wow, I completely forgot Mabry was a Cub.
